It all begins in darkness
nothing at the start
when you try to make provisions
for the complicated parts
where you can’t rely on reason
and you can not lose your nerve
and you start to find in giving
there’s still more that you deserve

things you hope that you might leave behind

When the heart begins it’s aching
for whatever can not be
and you’re brought to a convergence
of a river and the sea
