When I'm Flying Blind
Music and Lyrics by Michael Silverstone

Sitting in the kitchen
working on the floor
like a mighty mason builds a wall you don't ignore
you get all this pressure to read the signs and toe the line
but I only know I'm living when
I know that I'm flying blind

It only stands to reason
it only hurts to laugh
you can put it in a sentence or a paragraph
you can put it in a poem
you can put it in iambic rhyme
I only know I'm living when
I know that I'm flying blind

Find it in a vision
find it in your notes
find it when you're cooking up your morning oats
find it when you're talking
find it when you walk
find it in your wishes where your dreams unlock

Birds are made to wander
Fish are made to sing
Isn't that a dainty dish to set before a king?
I could take you anywhere
I could show you anything I find
I only know I'm living when I know that I'm flying blind

Everest is open
the sherpa's climbing through
few are made to follow him the way you do
I could tell you anything
I would show you anything I find
Only know I'm living when I know I'm flying blind
