To Feel This Love

about

A true story about this song. . .
In January of this year, I got a single round trip use of the time machine (that's what that thing is, in fact in Cern, Switzerland) and took it to 1976 and played this recording it for Nancy Maas, who was a secretary reporting to Bruce Garfield, the director of talent acquisition at Capitol Records. She loved it and took my ipad to Bruce, who unfortunately seemed way more excited about the ipad though he liked the song but said it seemed to him, "a little too 1968". Oy. The problem with these time travel trips is they age you chronologically by five years every time, and I can't really afford to do this as much as getting myself millionaire fame would require without becoming seriously old. But if I succeed, I might be able to afford the time travel trips as well as anti-aging treatments with stem cells. My friend Michael Jagger--it seems rediculous to me, but you no doubt know him as "Mick"--actually did this and succeeded beyond our wildest dreams, but I think, to be honest he's got to be a little annoyed by the aging thing though everything else has worked out for him amazingly well . . .

To Feel This Love
Music and Lyrics by Michael Alan Silverstone

The time was never right
The doors were never open
But now I see, there is no other time but now
If we don’t get what we want
We get what gets left over
Now I can’t say, that will be good enough for you

All our lives
Controlled by fears
Of what’s not real
But it feels so right
To feel this love

We’ve always had our ways
Of avoiding what we wanted
But now we see, there are no places left to hide

All our lives
Controlled by fears
Of what’s not real
But it feels so right
To feel this love

[instrumental verse]

If I ever get a chance
I know what I will savor
Now I see
What I’ve been wanting is so simple

All our lives
Controlled by fears
Of what’s not real
But it feels so right
To feel this love

To feel this love
To feel this love
To feel this love
