The Ice Age Hotel

about

Read some confusing information about climate change.
It seems that the idea that things will get hotter and hotter is just one theory. Another is that should polar ice melts dilute the salinity of oceans, that we'll have runaway cycle of cold with sunlight being reflected into space by snow cover on the ground that will return the world to an ice age.

In any event, it seemed like a subject that just called out for a crooning ballad.

The ending of the song calling for help from Mother, though it might be considered unadultly to beseech mommy from a posture of utter helplesness, seems to be a forgivably sincere and honest response to a situation calling for the mother of all rescues.

If we’re gonna stay
At the Ice Age Hotel
We’ll be there
For a long, long while
So we better get a room we like
And oughta not stay out too late
‘cause we’ll have to be out early
in the morning

We’ll have to emigrate to the South
If we are hoping to tough things out
‘cause I bet it will be getting pretty cold
around here. . .oh

We might move in
To the New Desert Inn
Which may soon spread far and wide
It might be a time we have to deal
in scrounging camels, tents and meals
‘cause the changes could quickly
and without warning

Anyone who says they know
Exactly what to do
Doesn’t understand what
We’ll soon all be going through. . .so

Be ready to float
In a Flotilla of Boats
That can roam the rising seas
To know to navigate
And tie some knots
Could put is in a better spot
With what new age may now suddenly
be dawning

We’ll be the happiest ones we know
We can tell everyone where they can go
If they haven’t already gone
Away. . .

Oh wonder, oh thunder, oh rain and heat
Oh oceans, oh glaciers, oh currents deep
Oh climate,
kind and violent
Oh mother please give us your help (3x)

Oh mother please give us your help
Oh mother please give us your help
Oh mother please give us your help
Oh mother please give us your help
