I know that time’s gone by—its been a
while
I dearly hope these words all find you well
Forgot myself at times but don’t feel forgot
Know my heart is there when I am not

Please give my brother my regard sometimes
I think that he would really like it here
In the calm and quiet of the afternoons
with the grasses waving
in the windy pines.

I was the oldest in my family
Things fell apart and then they fell to me
but I
did whatever I had to do
just to keep it going at
the time

Everybody
who has ever known the
kinds of things that I’ve been through
Knows the feeling
I have had when I'm
returning in my mind
to you

I’ve always wanted just to have a home
For that I’ve traveled quite a while alone
But I know that I”ve already found
thing’s I’ve been searching for are all
around

Everybody
who has ever known the
lonliness that I’ve been through
Must know this feeling
I have had when I’m
returning in my mind
to you
