Night on Fire

about

Read a newspaper story about a this guy that started a fire on a submarine so he could go home, because he was having anxiety attacks. You gotta feel for his plight, especially after the law of unintended consequences kicked in and the fire caused $450 million dollars in damage. We've all been there, its just a matter of degree.

Night on Fire
Words and Music by Michael Silverstone

I set the night on fire
though this had not been my intention
by the time that I had crossed the
wires
That was hardly mentioned
I never wanted to be
trying to do anything
out of control
I only wanted to be
going back to where I could
re-capture my soul
--at home

I set the boat on fire
but I know deep down
I never meant to do it
But as the heat got higher
Fateful flames were fueled
and I have come to rue it
I wish I could undo
the damage of my days
but this is not to be
in the wake that trailed the blaze
--behind me

Where could we go
from here, my dear
and how do we know
when the way’s not clear
--anymore

I set the night on fire
I set the night on fire
I set the night on fire
I set the night on fire
