Over You

by Michael Silverstone

/

about

Wrote this one in a noisy public space, trying to shut out music from a radio, in a notebook, blocking my ears and humming to myself. The song being a gift from the small, quiet jackhammer within.

Over You
Words and Music by Michael Silverstone
Mr Silverstone Music/A.S.C.A.P. 2013

You know me now. . .

In spite of warning
I refuse to listen
nights and mornings
have all gone missing from view
oh-oh-over you

And from the
way that we were talking
I see it still matters
something must have happened
or so I gather anew
Oh-oh over you

Can I change your mind
About anything at all
'cause I am inclined
to bring myself around again
oh-over to you

Left some dirty dishes
you put me in a quandary
but I’m not ambitious
to avoid the dirty laundry I’ve acrued
Oh-oh over you

I like it better
to go down to the wire
but am more contented
just to live with my desires
that grew
Oh-oh-over you. . .
